Cultivating strategies for consistently making good decisions is an integral part of a holistic approach to mental health.  Will employs contemporary neuroscience findings to help people understand the cognitive, social, and emotional biases that influence their decisions.  Using a neuroeconomically informed approach, he counsels clients toward more intentional and balanced choices that support their occupational, financial, and overall well-being.

Will’s expertise is built on a strong academic foundation. He earned both his M.S. and Ph.D. in Psychology with a concentration in Neuroscience from the University of Oregon. His doctoral research relied on fMRI to show how the brain computes value for a wide variety of stimuli ranging from primary rewards like the taste of a milkshake or secondary rewards like real-world monetary gains to abstract, socially constructed rewards like making a personally costly charitable donation. Following his Ph.D., Will completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at Harvard University, where he sought to understand why people make suboptimal decisions in intergroup contexts through the lens of social vs. economic value computation.

Applying this scientific background, Will helps clients understand the neural mechanisms underlying self-relevant cognition and socially modulated reinforcement learning processes. He translates complex psychological and neuroscience theories into accessible insights, enabling clients to identify and address the cognitive and emotional factors that impact their social and economic decisions. Will has applied this approach across a variety of decision-making contexts, including designing educational and mental-health plans for special needs children, consulting on neuroscientific plausibility for film and television, streamlining business operations and sales strategies for luxury goods, and advising clients on cultivating healthy financial plans. By fostering awareness of reward processing, cognitive biases, and emotional regulation, Will empowers individuals to develop strategies for greater financial clarity, resilience, and a life aligned with their values.
